The QFD Institute is issuing a Call for
Papers for the 20th Symposium on Quality Function Deployment, scheduled for
Friday, October 24, 2008
in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.
This Symposium welcomes paper proposals from all
industries and countries. Both completed projects and those still in progress
are candidates for presentation. Interested parties are invited to send an
Application.

Selection
Criteria
Papers
reporting QFD application case studies as well as research papers are
invited.
Paper
selection will be made on the basis of overall quality, interest to symposium
attendees, relevance to the conference, originality and depth of the work, value of contribution to the QFD world, and commitment to in-person
presentation at the Symposium.
Application papers
should have an empirical basis and include supporting data, methods of data collection
or data source, and methods of QFD analysis, to the extent and form
permissible for public disclosure or evidence substantiating the application
of QFD. (For abstract submission, please explain your plans for these, to
the extent possible at this time.) The author(s) should have been
directly involved with the project being reported.
Research and academic papers (conceptual research, theoretical and
other studies, hypothetical discussions) should be founded on sound QFD
knowledge, have a clear theoretical base, and include supporting data.
Please include, to the extent available at this time, your research purpose,
conceptual or theoretical basis, what you aim to achieve, your data source,
methods of data collection and analysis, QFD tools, and references that you are using or
plan to use. Peer-review is available upon request,
for academic papers.
Paper
proposals from consultants should include supporting data, methods of
data collection or data source, and methods of QFD analysis. If your paper
includes an example or case study, please also submit a written authorization from
your
client permitting your presentation of their case. Acceptance priority shall
be given on presentations by clients as it is preferred by our audience.
Book reviews and papers
mainly comprised of summaries and quotes from website information, previously published
articles, publications, and examples of others are not appropriate for
this Call for Papers.
QFD Institute's Symposia do not permit papers and presentations containing
sales pitch, advertising, and/or infomercial. If you wish to promote/exhibit your

Acceptance
Paper evaluation and acceptance may be
made on a
rolling basis. Acceptance will be notified by email. (This email will show the
full name of a
QFD Institute's staff person in the FROM field, not a committee or department
name).
Acceptance
is contingent upon completion of your
Speaker Registration by a specified
timeframe, submission of your final paper and copyright agreement, and commitment to in-person presentation at the Symposium.
