  • Anyone who attended a QFD Green Belt® Course in the past, especially those who earned the provisional QFD Green Belt® before September 2009
  • Past attendees of the QFD Institute's QFD Green Belt® Course who wish to enroll in the 2010 QFD Black Belt® Course.

Many new advancements have been made in QFD over the last few years. If it has been more than a year since you attended the QFD Green Belt® Course, we strongly recommend this refresher course.

The
QFD Green Belt® UPDATE Course is a half-day, semi-private continuing education exclusively for those who have attended the QFD Institute's QFD Green Belt® Course in the past.
Created in response to students' request to help keep the momentum going, this refresher course offers you an opportunity to update and enhance the QFD knowledge and skills learned in your previous course. You can bring your QFD samples for critique and coaching, or send your questions in advance.
 
Attendees of this Course will receive the latest release of the Green Belt® training manual and templates and a 1-year extension of the provisional Green Belt status. Your course registration also includes the 2-day International Symposium on QFD (9/24-9/25) and a networking reception.
Most importantly, those who are ready to step up to the next level are invited to attend the QFD Black Belt® Certificate Course (Sept. 27 - Oct. 1) on the same trip.

We look forward to reconnecting with you again this September in Portland, Oregon and helping move forward your new product  / business projects and career with QFD.

Course Description

 Who is eligible to attend (prerequisites):
  • Anyone who has graduated from the QFD Institute's QFD Green Belt® Certificate Course in the past.
  • This Update Course is recommended especially for those who earned a Provisional QFD Green Belt® before September 24, 2009 and have not completed the Full Status review yet.

 You will learn:
Planned for this QFD Green Belt® Update  Course are the following topics:
  • Improved algorithms for defining Customer Needs (Demanded Quality) for "new-to-world" products and services;
  • Incorporating Blitz QFD® into Dr. Akao's Comprehensive QFD to speed up the process;
  • Why and how of replacing ordinal scale calculations with ratio scale calculations of customer needs priorities, sales point, competitive benchmarking, and matrix relationship weights - to bring your QFD math to Six Sigma provisions;
  • Introduction to Kansei Engineering and Lifestyle QFD.
 Learning Outcomes and Benefits:
This course will introduce you to the latest enhancements to the QFD Green Belt® courses and the most up-to-date Modern QFD tools and methods. You will also receive the latest edition of the QFD Green Belt® training manual.    CEU credits: 0.5 point  (4 hour course)
  • Bring up to date and enhance your QFD knowledge and skills learned in your earlier course.
  • Get additional coaching. You might have encountered questions since attending the previous course. This is a good opportunity to get additional direction.
  • Find out the latest advancements in QFD and new-to-world concepts that the QFD Institute brings about through its on-going research.
  • Your Provisional QFD Green Belt® had expired if you attended QFD Green Belt® Course before September 2009 and did not complete the Full Status review. By attending this Update Course, you will get your Provisional Status reinstated and extended until September 24, 2011.
  • Attendees of this Update Course are eligible for the 2010 QFD Black Belt® Certificate Course. We have scheduled this refresher course a day before the QFD Black Belt® course, for your convenience.
 What to Bring:
  1. Your own laptop computer with a CD drive, containing MS Excel®, MS Word®, and Adobe Acrobat® 7.0; and
  2. Deployment samples that you have created on your own if you wish your work critiqued.

  3. You may also suggest topics that you wish to review; please send your suggestions to the QFD Institute before the start of the course.

 Textbooks and Materials:
  • QFD Institute's Modern QFD templates on CD (latest version); and
  • The latest edition of the QFD Green Belt® training manual.

The QFDI rate is $139 per room per night plus taxes (standard room, single or double occupancy). This rate is effective for stays from Sept. 19  through Oct. 3, subject to availability.
