WHAT & WHEN
All QFD meeting rooms are located on the 1st floor of Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. There is an electronic display board in the hotel lobby that shows daily events and meeting room locations, or check with the front desk or concierge if you need directions.

Symposium

- Speakers: Your own laptop computer and presentation file.
- (NOTE: The Symposium Transactions will be provided on a CD only. Paper copies are available for US$30 per copy when an order is placed no later than Saturday morning, December 3. Please contact us or let us know when you check in for the Symposium.)
All QFD Belt Courses:
- Laptop computer with a CD drive, MS Excel®, MS Word®, and Adobe Acrobat® 7.0
- Relevant marketing and technical data so that you can practice QFD tools in the classroom. (No need to reveal any confidential data.) If no such data is available, you may team with other classmates or use a hobby project.
QFD UPDATE COURSE attendees may bring your QFD samples. You may also send ahead of time the topics and questions you wish to review.
QFD Black Belt® and QFD Black Belt® UPDATE attendees: Please plan to have room in your suitcase to take home these books or plan to make shipping arrangements through the hotel concierge: 1) QFD Black Belt training manual, version 2012 (approx. 1,200 pages in a 4-inch binder);

THINGS TO DO
There are many attractions in San Diego, in addition to restaurants and shops nearby our hotel. We will have some maps and sightseeing pamphlets available for you at the registration desk. You can also seek advice from the hotel concierge (in the lobby) or visit the San Diego visitors' bureau.
Here are some of the attractions with evening hours:
- Balboa Park December Nights (Friday 12/2 @ 5-10pm; Saturday 12/2 @ noon-10pm) is a free community event held in Balboa Park, featuring food and crafts vendors and music. The museums in the park will be free during the event. Free shuttle service will be running from PETCO Park, which is just across a street from our hotel.
- The Old Town Esplanade is a cultural and historic area with interesting retail shops selling merchandise unique to San Diego and Mexican restaurants, including Bazaar Del Mundo (Sunday& Monday 10am-5:30pm; Tuesday-Saturday 10am-9pm) The Old Town can be visited by MTS Trolleys ($2.50 each way, about 20 minutes ride from the Gaslamp district).

- Maritime Museum of San Diego (open 9am-8pm every day, 619-234-9153) displays exhibits on maritime history, commerce and exploration through restoration. The museum has one of the world’s finest collections of historic ships, including the world’s oldest active ship the Star of India. [Address:
