Public Courses & Workshops

All training by the QFD Institute is compatible with ISO/QS-9000, Six Sigma, DFSS, Stage Gate, EFQM, TQM, Baldrige, and other quality initiatives.

The QFD Institute's QFD Belt programs are set at the highest standards in QFD training nationally and internationally and are the only QFD curricula authorized by Dr. Yoji Akao, founder of QFD, outside Japan.

Listed below are QFD Institute's public course menu. Public courses use generic training manuals and generic QFD deployment model common for most industries.

Those who seek advice and application in their specific business and situation should consider in-house custom training.

Linking DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) and QFD
(click here to open/close this panel)

Many in the DFSS field still equate QFD to only the House of Quality.

For example, despite the fact that QFD is positioned in the first subheading of the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Body of Knowledge by ASQ, most books and seminars focus only on the transfer function of QFD, with little attention paid to the steps that have the greatest impact on understanding the Voice of the Customer. This weak link could inadvertently skew the outcome of otherwise good DFSS intentions.

This workshop shows how to expertly link QFD and DFSS. Much of this content is now included in the QFD Green Belt® Course, but a separate workshop may be offered in conjunction with the QFD Institute's annual Symposium or as an in-house training at your company.
