The QFD Institute is an independent non-profit organization incorporated in Michigan USA. It is the only organization in the world that is dedicated to the state-of-the-art QFD education and research.

We work in cooperation with domestic quality organization as well as overseas QFD groups such as American Society for Quality (ASQ) whose Automotive Division has been a long-time supporter of our annual Symposium on QFD. QFD Institute is the American representative to the International Council for QFD (ICQFD), an alliance of countries participating in international QFD research activities and conferences.

See the List of organizations with whom we work cooperatively.

We are also the administrator of Akao Prize, Akao Scholarship for QFD, and the world's only International QFD Certificate Program approved by Dr. Yoji Akao, founder of QFD. The International QFD Belt Certificates can be issued only by the QFD Institute and its instructors.

Except for collaboration through ICQFD, as an independent organization the QFD Institute is not directly affiliated with foreign or domestic QFD institutions and groups that might have chosen to use a similar name. QFD diploma issued by such organizations do not qualify for the international QFD Belt Certificate as they do not meet many of the criteria for the current best practices.

For upcoming QFD Institute sponsored events around the world, please see Events. For questions, please contact us.

CAUTION:  Recently, some web sites appear to promote products and services by deceptively displaying QFD Institute's name and contact information for false pretense.

These online sites promote purported QFD products that are inappropriate for professional use, including QFD online templates that were tested by our experts and found it contain incorrect and obsolete QFD models and implementation methods, and most critically, mathematically invalid House of Quality QFD templates that can skew your weight and priority decisions and cause your downstream analysis completely invalid.

Before downloading such free QFD online templates, which might also contain malware, please read more about QFD Software.
