Affiliations

The QFD Institute is an independent non-profit organization incorporated in Michigan USA. It is the only organization in the world that is dedicated to the state-of-the-art QFD education and research.

We work in cooperation with domestic quality organization as well as overseas QFD groups such as American Society for Quality (ASQ) whose Automotive Division has been a long-time supporter of the annual Symposium on QFD.

QFD Institute is the American representative to the International Council for QFD (ICQFD), an alliance of countries participating in international QFD research activities and conferences.

We are also the administrator of Akao Prize and the world's only International QFD Certificate Program authorized by Dr. Yoji Akao, founder of QFD. The International QFD Belt Certificates can be issued only by the QFD Institute and its authorized instructors.

Except for collaboration through ICQFD, the QFD Institute is not directly affiliated with foreign or domestic QFD institutions and groups that might have chosen to use a similar name. QFD diploma issued by such organizations do not qualify for the international QFD Belt Certificate as they do not meet many of the criteria for the current best practices.

CAUTION: Recently, some websites appear to promote their software and service by displaying QFD Institute's name and contact information without our consent, deceptively creating an impression that their business somehow has relationship with the QFD Institute.

These online sites promote purported QFD template download and software which our tests have found to contain incorrect QFD flow and poor practices, including invalid math formula that can skew your importance weight and priority decisions and negatively affect integrity of your downstream deployments.
