The attendees from Brazil, Canada, China, Ecuador, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, and USA met in historic Williamsburg, learning QFD application examples from various industries and countries, recent QFD research, examples of traditional House of Quality QFD as well as Modern, lean QFD methods, and most importantly exchanging ideas, networking, and learning from each other. Keynote Speakers, ISQFD'07, QFD Institute

Highlights included keynote addresses on QFD

(Glenn Mazur), AHP tutorial (Richard Zultner),

by the 3rd president of the U.S. and colonial

A living methodology, QFD continues to evolve today. This was reflected by this year's presentation topics which included aerospace, AHP, education, government and public project, corporate strategy and innovation in healthcare planning, product lifecycle management, logistic planning, process industry, IT, tele-communication, and integration of various quality methodologies. Expert Choice provided additional tools to make attendees' QFD more successful with their software exhibit. The transactions from this symposium will be made available to the public in April 2008.

The annual event was also an opportunity for state-of-the-art QFD learning, including the 2-day QFD Green Belt® Certificate Course, 5-day advanced QFD Black Belt® Certificate Course, 1-day QFD Black Belt® Update Course, and 1/2 day QFD Green Belt® Update Course. Congratulations to everyone who have successfully completed these demanding programs.

This Symposium began in 1989 as a way for industry professionals and academics to exchange ideas and learn from each other in a supportive atmosphere. Over the years, this has helped many businesses keep innovative spirit and leadership in both good times and bad.

We invite you to mark your calendar now for 2008 so you can attend or even present next year. Paper submissions from all countries are welcome.

October 24, 2008: The QFD Institute's 20th Symposium on QFD in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. Call for Papers is now in effect.
